At Uptown Chiropractic, our focus is on helping you restore and strengthen your body's natural ability through chiropractic adjustments to handle life's daily demands.

When the body isn't adapting as it should, it often responds with stiffness, aches, and pain. Your nervous system, the body's computer, controls how you move, heal, and feel, keeping everything in check as you go about your daily activities, including work, play, recreation, etc…

When accumulated stress and injury cause the bones of the spine to shift out of alignment, they can irritate or interfere with the nerves that pass through the spinal column, disrupting whole body communication. Chiropractic care works to restore your spine to its optimal position, reducing or eliminating that interference so your body can repair, adapt, and respond better to whatever life brings.

People of all ages, from newborns to seniors, can benefit from chiropractic care. At Uptown Chiropractic, we use the Activator Method—a gentle, effective, and patient-specific adjustment technique. We work closely with you to reduce pain and discomfort, improve performance, and help you get back to doing what you love or need to do!

In the heart of Toronto’s Mount Pleasant Village, we are here to support you.

Do You Need Orthotic Support?

Your feet are the foundation of your entire body, and even small imbalances can change the way your feet strike the ground. This can create a chain reaction that travels upward, affecting posture and movement while contributing to pain in the knees, hips, or back. Custom orthotics work by improving foot function and reducing stress on the joints above, supporting more efficient and comfortable movement in daily life and sports.

What Are Custom Orthotics?

Custom orthotics are specially designed shoe inserts that support, align, and improve the function of your feet. They work by controlling how force is distributed when you walk or run, helping correct imbalances and improve overall stability. Similar to how braces guide teeth into alignment, orthotics provide gentle, consistent support to improve foot mechanics over time.

You may benefit from custom orthotics if you experience any of the following:

• Regular foot or heel pain (including plantar fasciitis)
• Knee, hip, or low back pain
• Pain when walking or running
• Fallen arches or flat feet
• Toeing in or out when walking
• Standing for long periods each day
• Regular participation in sports or physical activity

Orthotics and Chiropractic Care

When combined with chiropractic care, custom orthotics help ensure your body moves as it should, reducing strain, improving posture, and supporting long-term function and comfort.

As the owner of Uptown Chiropractic, Dr. Dawn Azzopardi has been proudly serving the Toronto community for over 30 years. Although originally from Ajax, she has long called mid-town Toronto home.

Dr. Azzopardi holds a B.Sc. in Biology from McMaster University and completed four years at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, graduating in 1994. Her path to pursuing the healing arts was shaped by her own childhood experience with chiropractic care, a deep fascination with how the body works and heals, and a genuine desire to help people restore their health and function — naturally.

As a mother of two, she is a strong advocate for chiropractic care for children. Having witnessed firsthand the bumps, falls, poor posture, tech-neck and sports injuries that kids encounter on a near-daily basis, she pursued post-graduate training in low-force adjusting, pregnancy, and pediatric chiropractic care. This allows her to offer care for patients of all ages — from newborns to seniors.

In 2013, Dr. Azzopardi relocated her practice from Don Mills to Mount Pleasant village and opened Uptown Chiropractic. She was drawn to the area for its welcoming village feel, strong sense of community, and eclectic mix of local businesses.
